Academy of International Business Collaboration USA
LANGUAGE INTENSIVES AT CYPRUS
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
For this year we are glad to offer to our clients Intensive Language Courses at our training center at Limassol, Cyprus. We provide General and Business English language courses as a core and other languages (Russian, German, French, Spanish, Greek, Italian etc.) on request. All the courses are taught by professional NATIVE teachers. Teaching is provided under Academy of International Business Collaboration Quality standards. It includes on-going student evaluation with feed back analysis. This method gives us an opportunity to use all the “passive” knowledge that the language student has (if he does). Our standard course is oriented to active conversational practice, but in each case we customize the curriculum and program of the course according to the client needs. The only thing that never changes is our Academic ‘standards of quality’. It is always the same high level in every circumstance.
WHY INTENSIVE?
Ninety-percent of our language programs are geared towards the corporate world. So we teach Foreign languages to the businessmen and employees. The global business expression of, “time is money” is correct without a doubt. That’s why we offer “a lot in a short time”. Our course at Cyprus was developed for busy people who are looking for quick results. It doesn’t matter if they are just “zero beginners” in foreign language or they need some fine tuning of professional language skills. We can help. This course is ideal “kick start” for the bigger language programs and it’s a good “refresher” in the middle of on-going study. So come and experience it.
WHY AT CYPRUS?
One time we came to visit one of our clients. They were a brand name international company, which used us as a corporate foreign language and business training provider. The head of the HR department and training manager asked us to organize an intensive course for three key employees. “These people are incredibly busy, but they needed to know English. “Please do something for us, send them to an island somewhere in the middle of the sea, put them into the classes and teach them day and night” they told us. The Client is always right, and we opened up the map of the World.
We choose the Island of Venus (that’s what they call Cyprus) for the place of
our intensives because of many reasons.
First of all people in Cyprus are friendly and they speak English, because Cyprus use to be a British colony for many years. Then, it’s always good Mediterranean weather over there. Cyprus is not far away from the main routes of transportation and it has very good system of air connections with many cities of the world. Cyprus is a very safe place, it’s no crime here. We can provide high standard accommodations at relatively low prices. Cyprus is a place with a relaxing atmosphere, so there’s nothing to disturb our students from learning language and business. Finally, there is a lot of fresh food and good wine over there...
As you can see Cyprus is a beautiful place to stay so that you can concentrate on your work and study.

HOW IT WORKS?
Teaching method.
We provide teaching in small groups and one on one. The preferable method for upper and middle manager type of students, of course, is individual tuition. Lower budget study programs can be arranged for groups of employees. In case of group tuition we require the students to be the same level of competency in foreign language. To define the level of the group we provide free of charge comprehensive testing at any of Academy’s offices or at the client location*. The course we offer has “module” structure. It means that students get two types of teaching: day-by-day routine study and weekly activity blocks. Our courses are specialized in different areas such as: conversational language, language for negotiations, writing skills, etc** .
Course Schedule.
For our intensives at Cyprus we developed the unique schedule. We had an idea to motivate our students to do their homework and, at the same time, we didn’t want to cut student’s free time in the evening. So we implement “siesta” schedule, which means a four hours break in the middle of the day. It gives the student an opportunity to relax after morning sessions, to do the homework, and to get ready for the afternoon sessions.
The normal language course schedule is the following. The course lasts for two [2] weeks, six [6] days a week, eight [8] academic hours a day. It a lot of time, believe us, but it gives REAL PROGRESS. A daily schedule from the first to the sixth days of the course week is:
08.30 - 12.15 -morning teaching sessions ( 5 academic hours)
12.15 - 16.00 - Siesta break. Normally students have lunch, go swim, relax, and do the “homework” exercises in the hotel or on the beach.
16.00 - 18.15 - afternoon teaching session (3 academic hours).
After 18.15 - social activities programs if planned.
Each seventh day of the course week is a full day social activity event (if planned) or break.
Accommodation.
Our students mostly are business people, so we offer them high standards of living environment for the course period. It is also important to stay in comfortable conditions because of the high intensity of teaching, which requires good relaxation between teaching sessions. We offer two types of accommodation: hotel accommodation for the short-term stay, and private apartments for the period of more than a month.
Hotels we offer are all on the sea side and range from 2** to 5***** star categories. Choice of the hotel depends on the budget. Apartments are good for long term stays. They are fully equipped for comfortable life ( from TV to cork opener)
Social and free time activities
There are a lot of things to do in Cyprus. We offer social activities during student’s stay at Cyprus. The activities can be suggested or arranged by event by the Academy local staff. Here is a short list of activities:
Daytime and beach
activities - it’s easy to organize, so we usually help students with suggestions. The
examples are: jet ski,
para skating, wind surfing, diving, banana boat riding,
speed boat, driving, golf, horseback-riding, deep-sea fishing,
Other possibilities include City excursions, Boat and yacht cruising (usually full day events), so you should let us know in advance to arrange it.
Evening activities: Disco’s and bars, Bowling and pool, etc. We can recommend where to go.
