It seems to me that this year’s annual mission just happened a while ago and here we are planning for next year’s annual mission again. It sure makes the year pass by so quickly and we do enjoy doing the things of God immensely!
Definitely, we will
have a Medical and Dental Mission again next year. We will have a Youth and
Children’s Week where they will be taught about the Word of God and reward
those who finish with complete school supplies. We will continue to plant more
fruiting trees. We will have a Family Time with the
parents and their children.
Since we have started an outreach in the small town of San Vicente we will also have a small missions outreach there as part of our annual mission. We will give school supplies to the youth and children after teaching them.
We will begin a Roof Renovation Project for two indigent families who cannot afford to fix their roof in preparation for the rainy season in 2005. If we are able to raise up sufficient funds we might even renovate the whole house. We are talking about families who have six or more children in the house. Children who will never experience having their own pillow unless we help them, who do not know the spoon from the fork. This is JR and Arvee’s families. Both children have five siblings. Some don’t go to school. Can we do more for them to show them God cares? We are after all God’s arms. Can you do something for them? Can you adopt a brother, a sister and make sure they receive education? Pray about it then let us know.
We
have helped a mountain tribe (Mangyan) community renovate their school building
during our last annual mission. Praise God there is now a church taking care of
their spiritual life. But there is one tribe that was introduced to us who does
not have a single organization helping them. They live in a place
called
Dapdap. There are about 30-40 families in this tribe who need to know Christ.
They have neither school building nor church. We feel led to help this tribe
if you would allow us, for we can only do this with your financial support. Like
we always do, we would like to give the families the basic needs for relief-
clothes, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste this coming mission trip.
Why do we try to do all these things? The Bible says “be rich in good works.” Because we are children of God and ambassadors of Christ we show Jesus as a caring King and Ruler. Because we are a people who have the power to go the extra mile for others serving as road signs that point to the direction of God. And we are called to love our neighbors. Well then, let’s love our neighbors! Come to think of it, it is truly a privilege to be given the opportunity to help others when we still have the power to do so. The book of Ecclesiastes said that there is a time for everything. NOW is our time, let’s make a good use of it!
Lest you wonder as to the reason we hold the annual mission in one place for a number of years. It is because we want to witness God grow the seeds we planted into fruit-bearing trees. God will, in due time. That is why our team work is not in vain. God is at work and we are part of it. Amen!
